About / Fieldnotes Studio
A place for the thinking around the work.
Fieldnotes Studio collects practical ways to keep a small project understandable: its brief, its working notes, and the reasons behind its decisions.
What you can read here
The project handover record follows a design task from an opening question to a one-page introduction. The notebook looks more closely at file names, stopping points, and decision records.
Two writing templates give those ideas a starting structure. They are deliberately short: a few questions to answer, rather than another system to maintain.
About the project
This is an independent editorial concept. The situations and project records are fictional and are written to explore useful working habits. They do not describe a client engagement, commercial service, or released software product.
Reading and privacy
All pages are available without an account. The site uses local text and styles, with no analytics, advertising, contact forms, external fonts, or third-party embeds. The hosting service may retain ordinary access logs for operation and troubleshooting.
Where to begin
Start with the handover record, then use a brief or decision template on a piece of work you already have. Keep the parts that help the next reader, and leave out what does not.
